Jake and Jordan were born in the winter of 2023, on a dairy farm, where male calves usually have one fate: early death. Thanks to the efforts of one woman, these boys were saved from slaughter, given attentive and aggressive medical treatment, and were released into sanctuary in April of 2023. Despite not being biological brothers, they are completely bonded, and Jake, who is two months younger than Jordan, looks to him for assurance, safety, and comfort. Though we wish they could be with their moms, they have formed a family with each other, and once they are big enough to join Otis and Bertie, they will have a large family of bachelor bovines to love.
Jake is still smaller than Jordan, and he has the world’s cutest black nose. He is outgoing, affectionate, and full of love and kisses. We discovered after he arrived that he and Bertie are actually half brothers, which may explain why on the day we integrated them with the bigger boys, he and Bertie were immediately drawn to each other. We love Jake’s silliness, his generous heart, and his role as the baby in his family. We are honored to be able to give him an entire life free of fear and full of love.
